What organizations typically hold books sales?
Libraries are usually the biggest type of organization to host a book sale. This is usually becuase they receive numerous donations they cannot use and need to sell them to make space. They also host them to be able to make some revenue from books culled from the collection. By doing this, they make space for new books, while generating funds to pay for the new books they would like to purchase.
AAUW organizations also host Book Sales. THey do this to help fund scholarships for women in the community. They can usually generate alot of donated media as a result to working with a university. These sales typically have better condition books than libraries since they will not have as many used library books for sale.
Several schools and universities will also hold book sales. This allows them to sell off old textbooks and library books. They also have the ability to have drives with their students to supply them with enough items to sell.
Finally churches will often have sales. These sales rely on parishiners for donations. These sales will usually be smaller but have good quality (some times like new) items for sale.
