Mergers and Acquisitions always make news headlines. The deal can be worth million and billions of dollars, therefore it is never easy. They can dictate fortunes of both the companies involved and for a leading CEO of the company it can be his career decision to make.
Many companies in order to stay ahead of the competitors and to expand ownership boundaries explore the new business strategies and mergers and acquisitions are part of imagining of making it big. At least in theory, mergers create economic stability, improved and expanded production as well as helps in cutting the cost. An investor take comfort that merger will deliver enhanced market power. But there are many complex issues related to M&A deals especially related to equity structuring. Therefore mergers and acquisitions are never very easy to do and require lot of analysis to be carried out before taking the final decision.
